To build
an alliance with a non-profit organization such as Family Services
of Greater Vancouver whose role is that of a junior partner who
inform, identify and recruit potential first time buyer particularly
single parent to be mentored by a Realtor teaching them the process
of home ownership.
Medallion
Housing Society believe that home ownership provides family stability,
and helps revitalize the community. A volunteer Realtor will assist
first time home buyer particularly single parents to be a homeowner.
The realtor mentor gives support by teaching them what it takes
to own a home.
Home ownership has the potential of building equity and capital
appreciation that the first time low-income earner.
Home ownership gives the first time buyer a pride of owning their
home and encourages them to maintain their home both as an asset
and a place of residence.
The Realtor mentor will assist the first time buyer to help in arranging
a mortgage using the financial institution that they deal with in
their regular work. To help the first time buyer with the down payment
Medallion Housing Society will work with alternative sources of
funding who will give grants to help attain the goal of homeownership.
Realtor mentor will assist in maintaining the requirements of grants
received and obligations that is required by the mortgage agreement.
